Born in the Municipality of Nigrán in 2022, Cinema a Pedal is a film festival that promotes sustainable mobility through audiovisual language as a tool for reflection and social transformation. Its programme brings together short and feature films—fiction, documentary, animation and experimental cinema—from both national and international contexts, in which the bicycle becomes the protagonist, whether as a narrative element, a driving force of the plot, or the guiding thread of the stories.
Cinema a Pedal was created with the aim of taking cinema beyond conventional screening rooms, connecting it with the territory, public space, and a more conscious way of moving through and inhabiting the world.
Since its inception, Cinema a Pedal has grown edition after edition as an itinerant, accessible and socially committed cultural project. The bicycle is not only a recurring theme, but also a symbol of a way of working: slow, collective, sustainable and people-centred.
Cinema a Pedal has been held annually since 2022, consolidating itself as a festival that continues to grow with each edition, exploring different formats, spaces and territories.
In the 2026 edition, the festival is structured in three stages that set the rhythm of the project throughout the year:
The Eco Market is part of the Cinema a Pedal Open Air programme and will take place on August 7 and 8. It is a space dedicated to sustainable retail and food projects, in line with the festival’s values.
A meeting point for local and responsible initiatives that support alternative ways of producing, consuming and relating to one another.
Join the Cinema a Pedal Eco Market and be part of this edition.
The festival continues to grow and is seeking new territories to keep pedalling cinema, sustainability and community. If you would like to bring Cinema a Pedal to your municipality, write to us and we will explore together how to become part of the route.
